A creative documentary for navigation app – Komoot

Last month we had a development call with Fiola Foley, head of communications and PR at Komoot. Komoot is a navigation app used to plot adventures in the outdoors and a place where users can log their activities. It also allows you to connect with others and add highlights and special features to the routes you create and share.

Our role was to travel to the highlands with the Komoot team and four competition winners to shoot a creative documentary of their trip. The tricky bit here was to refine the message with our client, develop ideas, and produce a short film that showcased the landscape and the app, whilst moving away from the straightforward promo film format. It was a real pleasure to work with the competition winners, and an awesome company who are bringing contemporary ideas in to the adventure industry. Oh and we stayed in a mansion on the shores of Loch Katrine and had a chef who competed in Masterchef 2014 – too good to be true! After shooting for 3 days with the team in Scotland we went in to the post production and development with the Komoot team at head office, refining and developing the final film so it stayed true to the characters and locations whilst conveying a strong message.

The film has recently gone live through Komoot's social media and web channels and we are very happy to share it with you here. Enjoy!
